The football thievery continues...

Syracuse has yet again taken another recruit from other Big East Football Schools.

Brandon Sharpe, outside linebacker from Virginia Beach has backed out of his commitment to Louisville and is signing with Syracuse. Looking at the headline on Syracuse.com makes this seem like fantastic news. Now, don't get me wrong. I do think this is good news. However, there are many different angles we can look at this here:

Pro: We are taking prospects and recruits from a bunch of different Big East schools now, primarily Louisville and South Florida. Obviously, this is good because we are getting their talent instead of them. This will definitely make us more competitive in the Big East.

Con: Like I said, we will definitely be more competitive: in the Big East. Given the talent level of the Big East right now (or at least last year), is it really the better half of talent in the country? Can these recruits potentially compete with the Pac-10, SEC, ACC, or even the MAC in a bowl game?

Obviously, I am stretching a little bit here, but I threw a poll question up just to see the reaction. Of course it is huge to take the Big East talent away from other Big East schools. After all, given the current championship system of college football the goal is obvious: win the conference and go to the BCS. With Marrone taking away talent from other Big East schools, he is definitely working towards that goal.
