Postgame and Memphis

Back on track? Ehhhh I guess so. Heading in to Saturday's matchup with the Tigers the 'Cuse is 10-1 sure. Call me crazy but I think it might take just a liiiitle bit more to beat John Calipari and Tyreke Evans in Memphis on Saturday.

Rick Jackson led the way surprisingly last night with 14 and 8. Eric Devendorf played 33 minutes in the blowout. Is he the new C.C. Sabathia from Milwaukee? The Brew knew they weren't going to have the bath man for long, so they put him on the hill for a ridiculous amount of innings. Could this be the same for Devo with minutes played? One thing is for sure. Eric most certainly built up an appetite after the long night and did some serious pita-pitting on Marshall Street when we saw him after.

But moving on...

Jimmy says we will see what this team is made of on Saturday. He claims we have not played well all season and if we don't play well on Saturday we will be exposed in memphis. The last time these two teams met was on opening night at Madison Square Garden during the 'reakin-ridiculous 2003 season.

Now I'm going to be honest. I know too much about Memphis for my own good. Having gone to the University of Tennessee for a semester (although now relocated to the illustrious harvard on the hill), with the current football situation down there is a lot of basketball talk. Of course about 98% of it is complete nonsense, but occasionally you would get a little tidbit here or there that is useful. And what I learned about Memphis is this: their basketball team is all they got (sound familiar?). They don't care about the Grizzlies (sorry, Hak). Their football team stinks and gets killed by the Vols, even Vanderbilt whenever they play them. Their basketball success is virtually the only thing going for their school right now athletics wise. Oh yeah and their intro is pretty sweet too:
I feel like the Undertaker should walk out of the tunnel when those lights hit...

Watch out for Evans and we should be fine.

Syracuse 70
Memphis 63

I have to say, I enjoyed the intro to the RHCP's Around the World in mix of music... other than that its a little cheesy and tawdry. What is this an NBA Franchise? Get off your high horse Memphis and throw on some Welcome to the Jungle, call it a night.

True that- two reasons why this would never work at the Dome

1) Lights out at one of the only alcohol serving ncaa athletic facilities... use your imagination

2) Added electric cost of turning lights off and on would cause DGross to raise ticket prices AGAIN...

Very good prediction of 70-63; final was 72-65... the correct margin, and off by a bucket for each! I thought the Orange were looking for trouble tonight, but they proved me wrong.
